Nominations European Breeder of the Year 2024

Eurogenes organizes the European Breeder of the Year 2024 for the first time this year! With a great line-up of breeders in Europe. In total 10 breeders are entered for the competion from Europe with a great influence for the breed. Pick your favorite breeder of 2024 before thursday december the 19th, 05.00 p.m. (Dutch Time).

The nominations: 

Lakeside Holsteins (NL)
Lakeside Holsteins has bred multiple interesting cows, with as highlight Lakeside Ups Red Range VG-86-NL 2yr. The dam to the Nr. 1 R&W sire in the Netherlands Ranger-Red and the #2 R&W gRZG daughter proven Interbull sire: Robin Red and the #19 gRZG sire: Ryder-Red. Or Lakeside Ups Rosylane AB-86-NL La2., the granddam to the populair R&W gNVI sire: DV DG Rammstein-Red. Sjoerd van Vliet (Lakeside Holsteins) is an enthusiastic breeder with many interesting cow families at their barn, like Al-Lew Monterey Ashley EX-95-USA, Golden-Oaks Mark Prudence EX-95-USA, Tri-day Ashlyn EX-96-USA, Carf Emeraude EX-91-NL, Lovhill Goldwyn Katrysha EX-96-USA and Mox Alpengirl EX-90-DE!
 

Koepon Genetics (NL)
Koepon Genetics has been successful for several years with the Classy, Regina and Esmonique cow families. A few years ago bought Koepon Genetics the influential cow Lakeside Ups Red Range VG-86-NL 2yr., the dam to the #1 sire: Ranger-Red, but also to the successful sires, Ryder-Red, Relax-Red, Robin-Red and great granddam to the topranking sire: Simply-Red! You can find the genetics from Koepon worldwide with Koepon Random in the Netherlands, he goes back to the Esmonique family but also the topranking German sire: CR7 P is from the Regina family and Koepon Showking in Switzerland is from the full sister to Ranger-Red! Beside that, Koepon Genetics is a great managed farm with an average production of >12.500kgM / cow and 4.4%F and 3.6%P
 

Poppe Holsteins (NL)
A great debut this year for the daughterproven sires Poppe Freestyle (s. Jacuzzi) and Poppe Kayne (s. Gywer) in the Top 3 in the Netherlands. Poppe Holsteins had also success a few years ago with Poppe Snow *RC in Germany and the Netherlands. Poppe Holsteins is an innovative farm with 280 cows and 280 youngstock with an average productiom of 12.517kgM and 4.2%F and 3.5%P. 
 

Go-Farm Holsteins (IT)
Go-Farm Holsteins is for many years now a well-know name in Europe. They bred Go-Farm Miura and Go-Farm Beerbum, the former leader of the Italian progeny proven index list, with many other Go-Farm sires are in the Top 50. They dominate the Italian index scene by breeding products from Go-Farm, the commercial dairy in the Lombardy region, where 1300 cows achieve an average daily production of 38kgM. You can also find them with multiple heifers in the GTPI Top 50 rankings up to +3307 GTPI with Sheepster daughter Go-Farm Beky.
 

Cristella Holsteins (IT)
Cristella, owned by the Marchi-Balestreri family. They are for a number of years making steady progress, with high DNA indexes achieved with their own cow families. In the meantime, they have many females >3200 gTPI. The foundation for this was laid more than 50 years ago, when grandfather Franco brought the imposing bull Hanoverhill Rocky to this impressive herd. 
 

Soc Agricola Campos e Dias (PRT)
Anthonio Diaz has bred this year many interesting and complete heifers from the Rabur family. They have bred the very complete C&D Dropbox Perfection, a Dropbox daughter at +3158 GTPI in combination with +3.48 PTAT, what makes her one of the most unique heifers worldwide. Her dam, (see picture) has multiple interesting and complete daughters sired by Holysmokes, Zoar and Hulu *RC. 
 

Anderstrup Holsteins (DK)
Anderstrup Holsteins is for the 5th time in a row the Nr. 1 production herd in Denmark. They are milking 475 cows, 3x a day with an average milkproduction of 16.500kgM with 3.9%F and 3.5%P. There is a perfect combination at Anderstrup Holsteins between milkproduction and type! They use bulls like, Arrow, Davinci, Happen, Have It All and other great type sires!
 

Hellender Holsteins (CH)
Hellender Holsteins in Switzerland has in impressive herd with tremendous cows. They've bred Hellender Brandy P Red, a Ronald son at Swissgenetics straight out of Hellender Power Baileys EX-93-CH, the Grand Champion Jr. Expo Bulle 2023. But don't forget Hellender Champion Corina EX-94, bred by Hellender Holsteins, she was Supreme Champion Argovie-Expo 2013, 1st Expo Bulle '09, 3rd Expo Bulle '11 and won multiple titles more! Hellender Champion Corina '20 has been named "Swiss Holstein Cow of the Year '20"! The Ender family from Hellender Holsteins have won several big show victories with the EX-94 Champion daughter. Corina has won 3x Supreme Champion in Switzerland so far and was shown multiple times at the Swiss Expo in Lausanne. 
 

Bois Seigneur Holsteins (BE)
Bois Seigneur Holsteins owned by the Pussemier family, which for 30 years has been the source of Comestar Laurie Sheik breeding lines in Europe. But you can find also great showcows at Bois Seigneur Holsteins in Belgium. Recently they won with Maxima de Bois Seigneur the Honorable Mention Senior Champion title Ath By Night 2024! This tremendous Chief daughter was only 47 days fresh at the show in her 4th lactation. Jonas Pussemier invests in interesting cow families worldwide, like Lovehill Goldwyn Katrysha EX-96, Harvdale Meridian Cherish EX-95, Ms Goldwyn Saturday VG-89 and many more!
